Well folk’s I had this report completely done and had to delete it and start over when I realized how good the fishing has been compared to what I had read in some other reports and after I got to thinking about what I have seen coming across the boards at the marina’s around the bay complex. My trips these pasts 20-day’s have been OK to VERY GOOD depending on what I was doing. I have been throwing shrimp on several occasions now and have had some OK day’s doing that catching more Redfish than Trout on those trips. Then I have still been throwing Croaker and on those day’s we have caught more Trout and a few Reds mixed in. My most recent trips with croakers have been near limits to limits with fish to 4 pounds and just solid action throughout the trip. Then on the other hand the trips were I was using live shrimp have not had quite the same # of keepers but have been full of action all day long also with some undersized fish in the mix.
One thing is for sure the fishing is still HOT wither using Croaks or Shrimp we are having a blast. I have the last 2 day’s of August open and the 4th and 6th of Labor day weekend open along with several weekday and a few weekend dates in September open at this time. Give me a call @ 713-203-5386 or e-mail me @ funfishingtrips@aol.com to book today.

Had a great day out Sunday after a pretty tough day on Saturday. Slow tides Saturday and Sunday and the worst wind direction for our bay system (WEST), however Saturday we did manage a nice box of Trout catching and releasing several Redfish. Then Sunday James Carlton & Matt, caught 21 nice trout too 24 inches, once again patience and persistence paid off. Fishing is good so give me a call 713-203-5386 if you want to get out in August before the croaker fishing is over for another year.

What a fun day on the water, as my son Captain Nathan and I had out a group of 8 friends who have fished many times with us over the years. Today we headed out of Thompson's marina and found a decent bite considering the weak tides today. We just made several drifts and worked up a nice box on each boat ending the day with 57 trout 4 reds and 1 flounder. Sometimes we have to be patient when the bite is slow and perseverance often is the defining deference between a great box of fish or a lot of boat riding. I have openings in August so give me a shout at 713-203-5386 to get in on the action or e-mail me thru the web site at www.funfishingtrips.com

I have several open dates before the middle of the month which is when many schools start back up. Today was a little tougher than yesterday as the tides did not move much at all and the bay was as slick as glass for a good part of the day. Everyone is always wanting a smooth day, however no wind is not usually good especially with little tide. We fished the same area that brought us 2nd place yesterday in the AGC but today's lack of tide and wind made me go to plan "B" and we found a decent mess of fish. Bottom line a good time was had by all.

Great day today fishing the 18th annual AGC Houston Fishing Tournament. I had a great group of guy's, Jason, Aaron & Ben ending the day with enough weight to capture 2nd place in the event. I must congratulate the 1st place team which was Captained by my son Nathan Gray. We have all way's wanted a one two finish but this is the first and hopefully not the last, Good job son.

Fishing continues to be hot as the July sun, that is when the July sun shines. Some day's we have had to dodge a rain cloud or two, which has actually kept the temperature down a little. The last few day's we have been looking for BIG fish for the AGC Tournament which kicks ff at 6 AM Friday morning. I have come up with some good fish at times however a couple of areas are rather Iffy, we will see?

I had a great group of brothers and their son’s out today & the fishing was excellent. This group had a ball catching Trout and Redfish up too 24” one almost taking over the BIG trout leader board, falling about 4 ounces short. Bottom line we had a nice day weather wise and Phillip, Phil, Stewart, Garrett, and Robert a...ll caught loads of BIG fish and will have story’s to tell for quite some time about the ones that got away!

Wow fishing was great yesterday and even better today. Yesterday the wind was still up a little however Bill and Andy managed a nice box of fish. The winds let up a little just before we came in and stayed down for a nice 2-boat deal I fished with my son Captain Nathan today. By the time we got done the winds had let up and the water was cleaning up and the fish were jumping in our boats, well maybe not jumping but the results was a great box of fish for some good friends. Fishing should be great as long as the weather allows, and I have some open day’s next week so if you have a few friends that want to get up a party give me a call or e-mail me at funfishingtrips@aol.com or visit the website at www.funfishingtrips.com

Jake and Even came in from Jupiter FL. to visit there Grandmother Margaret and she along with her friend Adrian brought the boy’s out for a fun day on the water today. The fireworks started right away and they had the 10 keepers they planed on keeping early. So we caught and released another 20 or so fish catching several sharks along the way. They ended up taking home 13 trout since some could not be released due to the hooks killing the fish, however this crew kept what they would eat and released the rest. That’s a good motto “Keep what you’ll eat”. I am sure the fish fry will be great and the fish stories will be told for years to come. Nice job Jake, Even, Margaret and Adrian.

The fine folks from Pelletizer Knives Inc. picked a great day for there employee appreciation day today with everyone catching loads of fish and several large trout being weighed in for the top prize. Captain Nathan’s group out did us this year and had 15 pounds in 3 fish while we had 14 pounds and some change on our boat. Not a major tournament or anything just bragging rights and the winners took home the pot. This is the kind of day that will keep everyone at the shop having fun talking about the BIG one that got away, I am sure that “just wait till next year” is heard more than once”.
On my boat Omega makes up for the BIG one that got away during the PKI employee fun day. The Big Red was released and the BIG Trout is the new Big Trout Leader on my website contest, it was 25-1/2” and weighed in at 4.14 lbs. Nice Job Omega!

It sure was GREAT to get back on the water after a few day's off due to the little storm that just went by. The realy Great news is the fishing was just as good as before the storm. We had a nice limit today and a new BIG Trout Leader Board Fish caught. Jeff landed this nice 25" 4.9 pounder. He and Ryan ended the day with 20 trout.

Will July is here and June was great. The first few days of July have seen more rain than we had all of last summer it seems so far. Fishing has been very good until the rain knocked us off the water a couple of day’s ago. Toady we were back at it and had a nice box of trout although we did not have any big ones like before the rain I think as the tides improve the bigger fish will start back to biting for sure. Just a note I have next Saturday July 17th and Sunday July 18th open at this time, kind of rare to have a weekend date open this late but no one has called about those dates as of yet. I do also have several open weekdays’ spread out in July at this time also, so if the fishing bug hits you give me a call 713-203-5386 and we will get you on the books today.

Wow! What a great Memorial Holiday weekend, good friends, BBQ and to top all that off some truly Fun Fishing Trips. Fishing started off with decent catches and when the wind let up a little we clobbered some nice trout to 27 inches. Several trip saw near limits to limits and half of the fish were in the 3-5 pound class. Still using live croaker and fishing them over shell, keying on slicks and bait. The tail end of the tide movement seemed to turn on the BIG fish. Just about the time you thought the bite might be ending; along would come a 23 to 27 inch trout and give us a run for our money. One trip saw 3 BIG fish get off at the boat, which is heart breaking in one way but OK in another way. Like at least you got to see the fish just before it put on a show and spit the hook in your face or busted the line with a final run that caught one of the girls “Sam” by surprise on Memorial Day.
Tuesday and today after the holiday has been just as productive with very nice catches. I look for the fishing to remain good throughout the rest of the month and on into July so give me a call at 713-203-5386 or e-mail @ funfishingtrips@aol.com to book a trip and get in on the action.

OK Folks; Now I am getting excited about this years summer season of fishing in the Galveston Bay system. Recent trips have been VERY PRODUCTIVE! With Trout to 25 inches and solid box’s of quality fish in the 18-22 inch range, every time the winds come down.
I am fishing Live Croaker right now over either broken shell or oyster shell in from 2 to 5 foot of water. Slicks have been very productive and in most cases the areas with slicks have also held large pods of bait.
Give me a call at 713-203-5386 or e-mail at funfishingtrips@aol.com to get in on the action. I have one Saturday & a couple of Sunday’s open in June and several weekday’s however with the help of my son Captain Nathan we will find a way to get you out so do not hesitate to call now.

Well the winds finally dropped to under 15 knots and the fish turned on, actually I feel like the fish have been out there ready to bite, we just could not get to them with 20 plus knot winds. I have had near limits and one nice limit the last several trips with fish up to 5 pounds. Several recent photos are up on page 2 of the picture page and a new big trout leader was added Monday with a nice 25” 5.5 pound trout. I still have openings the last week of May and some weekend openings in June along with some weekday openings in June. Bottom line is this, NOW is the time to get out for some GREAT fishing so give me a call at 713-203-5386 or e-mail me at funfishingtrips@aol.com today!

Well here we go again the winds came up from the south and now we get a little front that turns things back to the North with a little starch in today’s wind I asked my clients if they wanted to give it a try. This is something I do quite often when things are marginal as far as the weather goes. My client today said hey let’s give it a go and we did, today’s trip was a 2 boat trip and we ended up with a fair catch of 7 trout and 3 reds.
The decision to go fishing in the north wind was not a bad one we caught and released many fish and several very big black drum up to 40 pounds. You see when I have discussed fishing on tough day’s I let folks know about the seemingly perfect day when the catch has been even worse than today’s. However I have had limits in even the very worst possible conditions, this is not always the case but it does prove the age-old fishing saying, “You never know till you go”.

Bill and Andy had a very nice day out today despite the strong winds, which came out of the south at 10-20 knots “again”! As I had mentioned in my last report the winds have been up but the fish are on several of the spots I like to fish this time of year. The question some day’s is can we get to them and have good enough presentation on the baits to get a fish to bite. Well today was one of those good windy days, we just stayed protected and patient and ended the day with 16 nice trout 1 red and 1 nice flounder. Good job Bill and Andy; check out there PIC on page 2 of the picture page.

Wow! It must be spring on the Texas gulf Coast because the wind is a BLOWING. I have not had a lot of things to report since the last report because I have had to either reschedule or cancel several trips since April 9th . The few trips I have run the last couple of weeks have been mixed bags of Trout and Reds with a couple of near limits and a couple of trips with just a few fish. One thing is for sure on the day’s that the weather will let us get out from now thru September will be much better as the fish are starting to stack up in some of my favorite areas to fish. I have half of May and June open so now is the time to call or e-mail to book those trips. Call 713-203-5386 or e-mail funfishingtrips@aol.com to book today.

Awesome day of fishing today with a group of friends just getting together splitting the charter cost allowing them to fish for about $150 EA. Their group of 6 was what we call a multi boat trip, and we had my son Captain Nathan Gray as the other captain. These guys’s had a blast catching loads of fish and ending the day with 21 keeper trout and 14 keeper redfish, while turning back probably 100 undersized fish. Nathan and I kept very close on the water so these friends could hound each other about who caught the biggest fish and pass drinks and snacks from one boat to the other, all in all just a great day! Look for there group PIC on the picture page soon, and give me a call at 713-203-5386or e-mail at funfishingtrips@aol.com to get in on the action.

Despite some pretty windy conditions over the Easter holiday weekend each trip out had a nice box of fish, new PICS will be up soon. Starting last Thursday thru Sunday the catches were a mix of Trout & Reds Fair numbers were caught on each trip although no one landed a fish large enough to be added to the BIG Trout Leader Board. Things are looking up across the Bay Complex and I have seen water temps in the bay over the magical 72-degree mark. Salinity levels have come up nicely and fishing will be good on day’s we can get the winds down, although protected areas will produce even better than they have been on windy day’s.
NOW! Is the time to start booking your spring and summer trips, May and June are starting to fill in. You might want an idea of what summer fishing will be like and you can get a good idea by scrolling through the picture pages of the website, there are 5 pages with PICS posted pretty much in the order of the trips with dates on most PICS. We had a nice trip out Saturday with Jon Boone becoming the new leader for the BIG Trout Contest; he landed a very nice 27 inch 6.4 pounder that really put on a show for us. It was a heart pounding time once we realized how BIG she was and the fact that Jon was using an ultra light rod & reel with only 8 pound test line. The fish made a massive blow up trying to throw the hook to the point that it sounded like a gun going off, which was in reality her chin bone breaking through her lower jaw. After a run under the boat Jon was able to turn her back towards the net and we were able to get her in the boat. Jon being the sport enthusiast he is would have liked to release the fish however the gill plates were torn out and with the broken jawbone we knew she would not make it so we kept the fish. Congratulations Jon!

After some very low water days due to a very strong cold front that pushed through last week, we finally had a return of southerly winds that brought with it a nice bull tide. The water level last week was the lowest I have ever seen making it imposable to launch boats in the upper end of the bay system, the low tides persisted thru Friday morning. Saturday brought us a nice fresh push of seawater with salinity levels much higher than they were even before the strong northerner. The salinity level was running around 8-9PSU and now it is up to 20PSU at Eagle Point this will make for some great trips in the coming weeks. I do have some openings so give me a call at 713-203-5386 or e-mail at funfishingtrips@aol.com to book today.

Spring Break fishing is moving right along with fair catches of trout and redfish with some undersized mixed in during each trip. The tide movement has been poor however it is going to improve with each day from now to the end of March. Trinity Bay continues to be very fresh with water coming down the Trinity River from Dallas and Lake Livingston, however I plan to check some areas out pretty soon to see just how fresh the water is.
Now is the time to start thinking about your summer fishing trips when we will be using live croaker for bait and having a blast on the warmer summer days. Give me a call 713-203-5386 or e-mail me at funfishingtrips@aol.com today!

Fishing has been a little slow since the Fishing Show ended last week. I have had out several trips and fair box’s of fish were caught each trip out with some a little better than others. Things should heat up spring break week with warmer temperatures and better tide movement. We go back to 4 tides a day today and I think the fish will start biting much better on the 4 tides. I had out the BIG TROUT WINNER’S yesterday and we had 10 trout but none as big as the ones the winners had caught last year. All had a great time and I mean all as this was the first time that I had all 4 winners from the year before make the trip. Gary Snead continues to hang onto the leader board with a nice 4.5-pound trout, so now is the time to book a spring break trip and try to take over the leader board. Good luck to all.

Cold Front Dropps Water Level Fishing Tough but Productive
The last couple of day's have been warmer but Friday's front dropped water level as low as I have fished in quite some time. Saturday we ended the day with 7 trout and 1 red, for Jack and his friend John. Then Sunday I thought we might do a little better with the water level coming back up yet we only landed 3 trout 2 flounder and 1 redfish. Still was a great day for Doug and his son Jacob (9yrs) to get out of the house catch a few fish and catch and release a number of just undersized redfish. Jacob caught his first trout and gave her a big fat juicy kiss. What could be better than that, he said giving his sister a kiss right after he kissed the fish.
The fishing Show opens this Wednseday March 3rd and runs through Sunday the 7th. Come on out and pick up a copy of my Tide Movement schedule for March thru July. This is a good tool to help you pick out the best possable dates to book your spring and summer fishing trips. For more information or for me to e-mail the tide movement schedule shoot me an e-mail to funfishingtrips@aol.com or call 713-203-5386 today.

More good trout action and some nice redfish action over the past couple of fishing trips. Still throwing live shrimp under Alameda rattling corks in somewhat shallow water with fish coming from between 2-4 foot of water. I think the warmer day’s this weekend moved the fish a little better and allowed the redfish to get up into about 2 foot of water, with the trout coming from 3-4 foot of water. Tim and Mike were in from West Virginia on Friday and each landed a very nice 22 inch trout for there first ever speckled trout. And then on Saturday Jon and Marshal worked over the fish keeping a limit of redfish and 12 nice trout, proving that winter fishing can be very productive and great fun on the water. Check out trip PICS on the picture page of this website and give me a call to get in on the action at 713-203-5386 or e-mail at funfishingtrips@aol.com

Another great winter fishing trip, as my son and I had a nice 2 boat 8 person bachelor party out today. Jason and his friends landed a total of 19 trout and 7 redfish between the 2 boats with several undersized redfish in the mix. Fishing live shrimp in 4-6 foot of water we found steady action and good times for Jason and his party before he ties the knot in a couple of weeks. Hopefully his new bride will not mind coming along on a fishing trip in the future. Check out there trip PIC on page 1 of the picture section as “Jason’s bachelor party 2-6-10”

Today was about as cold as it gets on the water with 38 degrees when we left the dock and it might have warmed up to 45 by the time we made it back to the dock. The one thing that will make a day like today seem warmer is to catch some fish, and when that happened I did not feel as cold. After several nice trout and I had just told Jon that the BIG fish we were looking for might just be in here today. I would have preferred Jon caught the next one because she was the one I had hoped would be in the area. A very nice 27-inch at least 8 pound, maybe up to 9 pounder trout took the bait only 10 feet or so away from the boat. I told Jon I did not think it was but 25 inches or so and he said you better measure that fish before you release her. Sure enough 27-inches, and VERY fat, not wanting to stress her out to much I did not pull out the scales and got her right back in the water. We stayed after it knowing all along that another possibly even bigger fish was in the area, but as the tide movement slowed down and the water level dropped about 2 feet we knew the window of opportunity was gone till next time. We ended up keeping 6 trout to 20 inches and released another 12 or so, we also kept 1 red and released another nice 22 inch Redfish.
Give me a call at 713-203-5386 or e-mail me at funfishingtrips@aol.com if you would like to get in on a chance for a BIG winter Trout and some nice Redfish to boot. Capt. Cecil

Awesome day on the water today despite a little chill in the air, proving that winter fishing can be very productive when you dress for the conditions. Robin her daughters Megan & Abby Along with Megan’s boyfriend Joel, landed 21 very nice Trout to 23 inches along with one nice 26-inch redfish. I must say that I was very proud of the lady’s for being out in the elements and knocking down some great fish. These women can hang with the best of us guys and should be very proud of there catch. Check out there PIC, which will be posted on page 1 of the picture page as one cool catch. Well 2010 is here and has come in with a bang I look for this to be a very good year of fishing. Out with the OLD and in with the NEW YEAR (TwentyTen)! 2009 closed out with a couple of nice trips since my last report and the New Year started off with a *BANG*. On The 31st Bill and Andy knocked down 14 nice trout with lot’s of action a few throw backs and one great ending to 2009. Then a couple of day’s later Gary and his son Garret picked up were they left off from their October 8th trip with Gary landing the current Big Trout Leader Board fish a nice 24-1/2 inch 4.4 pounder. However just like their October trip Garret would go home with BIG Trout Bragging rights even though he is not old enough to qualify for the Big Trout Leader Board his fish was a wall hanging 26-1/2 inch 7.6 pound PIG, Nice job Gary & Garret. Wow! Christmas has flown by and New Years is FAST approaching. Fishing has been up and down with the weather and catches ranging from several keepers to near limits. Some great fishing yesterday with Jody Walt and Lee landing 20 nice Trout to 5 pounds and 1 slot Redfish and one Redfish just over the slot, which we released. You can check there PIC out along with a couple of other PICS just being posted on page 5 of the picture page of this website. I just had New Years day come open due to a cancellation, give me a call if you are interested in bringing in the New Year with a fishing trip. December has shaped up very nicely with good catches of Trout when weather permits us to get out. This past weekend the bite was early and once the tide movement stopped the bite slowed. The fish have been from just keeper size to 22 inches and very healthy fish with some great slabs of meet. I have been using live shrimp fishing in 3-4 plus feet of water. Some fish have also gone for soft plastics and DOA’s under Cajun Thunder corks. I have some openings the week between Christmas and New Years, including New Years Eve, which is always a great way to end the year. Give me a call at 713-203-5386 to get in on some winter fishing action. Capt. Cecil

Had some nice trips out during the Thanksgiving Holiday week. It sure is good to have some fish mixed in with all that Turkey. The tides have backed off a bit this week with not as strong of movements as the last couple of reports along with somewhat lower tides due to the last cold front. This pushed the bigger fish I had been catching off the reefs and as a result the fish the last couple of trips the fish were in the 16-20 inch range. Still good fish just not the same as those Pigs we took the week before which ranged up to 25 inches. I think when the tides get back to one to two foot pushes of water the bigger fish will light back up. This cold front that will push through on Monday morning will wipe out the first half of the week leaving some awesome fishing by the weekend. I have Saturday open at this time so if you want in on some great fall fishing give me a call today at 713-203-5386. Capt. Cecil

It is always fun to beat a little bad weather before it moves in. But it’s even more fun when you clobber some nice fish just as the wind begins to whip up some white caps and you know that you might have just caught the last fish for a couple of day’s. That is just what Mark and his son Jeff pulled off today catching a limit of trout with 3 fish over 24 inches and several other nice trout in the mix. We hit several spots and worked live shrimp in from 3 foot of water to 7 foot of water. Parts of Trinity Bay have pretty water while other areas look like a mud hole at times. I have been sticking to the pretty water and catching fish best on moving tides. This bad weather will move out Saturday, and next week should be awesome. I have the first part of Thanksgiving week open so give me a call 713-203-5386 or e-mail to get in on some HOT Fall fishing. Capt. Cecil

Another awesome day on the water, with Jack and Michael picking up a limit of trout to 5+ pounds, with Michael taking over the BIG Trout leader board for now. The last 2 trips we had fish up to 5 pounds and I feel like this trend will continue for a while. Big fish and good numbers, along with great fall weather make for some very memorable trips. Give me a call to book I have several openings, especially during the weekday’s in November. Capt. Cecil

Despite a little wind today we had a great day with Allen and Jim catching a nice limit of trout to 5 pounds and a couple of redfish to boot. Jim had the BIG fish of the day going 24” and 5 pounds landing Jim on the leader board “front page” for now. Over the weekend I had a couple of good trips also: Friday catching fish in Trinity bay and Saturday puling in some good fish from East Bay. All went for live shrimp fished over shell in from 3 to 5 foot of water. Tide movement has been crucial for a better bite wither going out or coming in. All recent trip PICS are up on page 5 of the picture page of this web site. Give me a call or e-mail to book a trip and get in on some hot fall fishing action right now. Capt. Cecil

What a nice run of fishing the last few day’s, despite shaky weather at times. Since my last report it has continued to be a mixed bag of trout and redfish using live shrimp under a popping cork. The thing I have been doing with the big swing in wind strength and directions is to keep in mind what areas are protected from the wind of the day. Everyday has been different so I have been ready to try several spots, if the fish are not there after about 30 minutes I move on to another area. When I get to an area with fish, and the action is pretty steady, I just hang in that area being patient and working up decent boxes of fish. The weather this week is looking pretty good for the weekend so give me a call as I have Friday Saturday and Sunday open at this time, 713-203-5386 for some great fall fishing. Capt. Cecil

The first part of this week has been a little warmer than the weekend and the fishing has been OK but not quite as strong as last Friday and Saturday. The catches are still a nice mix of trout and redfish along with some undersized fish throughout the trips. The warmer weather brought very high tides that may have spread out the fish a little. Live shrimp fished over structure has been the ticket for me of late, keying on bait and slicks. This weekend looks to be back to fall fishing weather with a nice cold front blowing in behind this rainy weather today. The rain started; as I was finishing cleaning Ford and Mikes catch today and will be gone by Friday morning. Check out the picture section, page 4 for the latest PICS. I have Next weekend open at this time so give me a call to get in on some fall fishing, I think next Saturday could be pretty scary for the fish. Capt. Cecil

Captain Cecil, Just wanted to send you a quick note to let you know how much fun I had last Saturday. It was a great day, the weather was great and the fishing even better. Hope you can get the picture out on your website soon (or send me a copy by return email) cause I have some of my co-workers already interested here at Chevron. Plus I want to show them all the BIG ONES we caught. Thanks for a GREAT time! Regards, Brett

This Saturday we had a group of friends from Atoscasita Fellowship Church out and they put it on the trout and reds with a very nice box of fish that were caught mostly drifting in 3-5 foot of water keying on bait in the water. I am throwing Live shrimp under alameda rattle corks and having a great time doing it. The trout were so hungry that they were spitting out LIVE SHAD that’s right I said live shad and sometimes more than one shad would come flying out of there mouth when we got them in the boat. Now that to me is a hungry fish 2 or 3 shad already in his mouth and still going after the shrimp, what a blast! This would be 2 day’s in a row of great boxes with rather high winds, which just goes to show you never know till you go…… Kenny, Jeremy, Frank & Brett ended the day with 6 redfish and 19 trout, there PIC will be up on page 4 of the picture page soon. The fall fishing is going to be great this year so give me a call to book your trips soon at 713-203-5386 or e-mail me through this website. Capt. Cecil

Fall fishing is starting to take off, and even with adverse winds this Friday and Saturday I had very good boxes of Trout and Redfish. Friday October 16th was the annual OEC Tournament in Galveston to support the Ocean Star Offshore Drilling Museum, which usually has some of the worst weather of the fall (example-last year Ike). This year was no exception with 20-30 knot winds blowing in from the northwest, which meant we had to hit very protected areas. My team was, Noble Energy’s - Lynn Hitt, Don Weisinger, and Berry, hosted by Ben Weber from BJ Services. This team was not to be denied after placing second in the last OEC Tourney we fished held back in 2007. They worked extremely hard and were able to take first place this year with a 5 fish total stringer weight of 25 pounds. Lynn had big redfish for the tournament with a very nice 27&7/8 inch red that weighed in at 7.96 pounds. Capt. Cecil

Hello Capt. Cecil Thank you very much for the pictures and what a fantastic trip we had!! Garrett and I had a great time catching the speckled trout but what we caught and will cherish forever is the memories that were created that day on the water. It has been hard to wipe the smile off Garrett’s face since we left you at the dock and he and I have yet to stop talking about our trip. On the way home to Montgomery he fell asleep in the truck but suddenly woke up with his left hand high and his right hand reeling. He said Dad “I thought I had a Speckled trout on and it was bigger then the last one! “. We laughed all the way home!!! Our family had a great meal that night and we enjoyed the story told by Garrett in detail of the “Big Catch”. This was a special day and a moment in time that you help create Captain Cecil for my son and I and I thank you from the bottom of my heart and our day on the water with you was “Priceless !!! “ Gary Snead

Well the fall fishing is trying to get going, despite summer like weather most of the end of September and the first eight days of October. Today was great even though we had 20-25 knot winds ahead of this weekends approaching cold front, which is just what we need to get a steady bite going. Gary and his son Garrett caught some very nice trout and as usually is the case the younger got the bigger fish of the day on his dad. Garrett had a very nice 25&1/2 incher that weighed in at 4.7 pounds while his dad got on the big trout leader board (only because Garrett was too young for the contest:) with a nice 21&1/2 inch 3.7 pounder of his own. So Gary has the early lead on the last quarter for 2009. Fishing will be great and even on some hot day’s of late we have had some good boxes of trout and reds, and fishing will only get better when the water temps start dropping due to the cold front’s that will as always make of the coast, leaving us crisp clear day’s to fish. Call now to book I still have some weekend dates in October and part of Thanksgiving week open at this time. Capt. Cecil

Dear Cecil- We truly had a wonderful time yesterday! The children could not stop talking about their day. I know it's all they're going to be talking about today at school and writing in their daily journals. We loved how you made it so fun, but educational and exciting. We placed some fish on the grill last night and enjoyed a delicious meal, that is Garrett and I. The children are still not so sure they should try any. We'll keep trying. It was great to see the picture on the website last night. We called several relatives to let them know. Thank you for taking us all out. We highly respect your job and your professionalism with your customers. We will definitly recommend you to all our friends. Have a wonderful day! Sherri

Wow, is all I can say after spending a day on the water with Lyndon (7 yrs) & Bronwyn (9 yrs) son and daughter of Garret and Sherry. These 2 kids could really fish and Lyndon was a great deck hand to boot. We also had Reza & Jennifer on board for a big family day of fun fishing, with everyone catching some fish. Bronwyn handled the big trout of the day with a very nice 25” 5 pounder, adding a 3-foot shark to end the day. The shark brought out a squeal from her that I am sure could be heard back at the dock. Check out there PIC on page 4 PIC # 8 of the picture page of this website. Capt. Cecil

Had some great trips out over the weekend and last week, with trout to 5 pounds and some nice redfish in the box also. Saturday was a little tournament for Dienst Distributing Co. employees in which my crew of Tim C.J. & Tommy, tied for 1st place stringer. C.J. was 2 ounce’s off having largest trout with a nice 24”3.15 pounder, and Tim was close to taking largest redfish with a 27” 6.8 ounce beauty. A great time was had by all and thanks to the folk’s at Dienst Distributing Co. for throwing such a nice party for their employee’s. Capt. Cecil

WHAT AN AWESOME SUMMER OF FISHING With school starting back and fantasy football teams abounding it seems summer is drawing to an end, however the HOT fishing continues. We continue to use live croaker for bait and will probably do so for a few weeks more before switching over to fall and winters best bait “Live Shrimp”. I have been up in Trinity Bay some the last couple of weeks and found some nice Trout along with good Redfish. I feel like this fall will be the best in some time for Trout and Redfish, the Red’s are pretty big and some oversized mixed in with the slot Red’s. As far as open dates I have many weekdays in both September and October. I have one Saturday in September (this Saturday the 12th) and 3 in October (Saturday the 3rd 17th & 31st) left open at this time, along with all Sundays in September and October open at this time. Now is also the time to start thinking about November and Thanksgiving week, which is always great fishing. Give me a call or e-mail if you want to get in on some of this great fall fishing. Fishing continues to be as HOT as the weather. Yesterday I had the chance to take out my Granddaughters Laci-12 and Emily-6; Emily had a nice 23” trout and Laci had a 22” as well, there PIC should be up soon on page 3 of the picture page of this website along with several other recent catches. The girls had as much fun catching some of the thousands of jellyfish in Trinity Bay and upper Galveston Bay. This is significant because whenever there are loads of the little stinging jellyfish it usually means very pretty water is in the bay system. Whenever I have been on a reef with that kind of pretty water we have caught fish and some very nice ones to boot. Toady we got a new BIG Trout Leader and his PIC should be up soon, Justin landed a very nice 28 inch 6.10 pounder just a few hours ago. Still using Croakers and still fishing in 3-6 foot of water over mostly shell bottom. The fishing is good in Trinity and Galveston Bay’s so give me a call to set up an end of summer fishing trip today at 713-203-5386. Capt. Cecil

What an awesome week of fishing in Galveston Bay, with near limits to limits on most every trip. However it was not just the number of fish we have been catching but the quality as most fish have been between 20-24 inches. Saturday I only had 3 fish under 20 inches and several went up to 24 inches, that with a few redfish starting to show up and we have had some great fun on the water of late. I continue to fish in 4-6 feet of water and the fish are gobbling up the croaker that we are using right now. Give me a call to get in on this end of the summer run honestly this is as good a time ever to get a charter trip out into Galveston Bay, call me at 713-203-5386 today. Capt. Cecil
